What material is best for doors?

As it is the first decision that you need to make, ‘what material is best for doors?’ is a question that we get asked a lot.

At Budget Windows we offer four different door materials:

• composite doors are crafted with a selection of materials including a timber core, glass-reinforced polyester skins and internal insulation
• timber doors are a classic choice for your home and are one of the oldest materials used for doors
• aluminium doors have slim frames, and a larger glass surface, letting more natural light and air flood through your home

How much will a new door cost?

There are many aspects to consider when buying a new door such as energy efficiency, security and material which is why each door is made bespoke to you and your requirements. Do all doors come in a standard size?

In theory, the most common internal door size in England and Wales is 1981 x 762 x 35mm.

Sliding doors and bifold doors differ, however. To help you, here is an indication of what sizes can be achieved:

What door accessory options do you offer?

What security features do your doors feature?

This type of multi-point locking system makes forced entry extremely difficult as it is locked at multiple points on the frame, ultimately giving you peace of mind that your loved ones will be safe against unwanted intruders.
